Nestled in the beautiful setting of the Algarve in Portugal, the 100,000-seat Autodromo Internacional do Algarve – known more colloquially as Portimao, named after the port city that is half an hour away – opened on November 2, 2008.
The Algarve Motorsports Park is a state-of-the-art complex that boasts the beautiful track, a go-kart track, an off-road park, a hotel, an apartment complex, a technology park and a sports complex – it really is the ultimate.
As for the layout of the actual circuit, the Autodromo Internacional do Algarve has 15 turns – nine on the right and six on the left. The main feature of the circuit is its unique ups and downs.
